Organic Play Dough Recipe

(Suitable for ages from 2 years)

2 cups organic plain flour

1 cup salt

4 tbs cream of tartar

2 tbs oil

Natural Food Colouring or Tempura powdered paint (Bought from Toy shops)

2 cups boiling water (Straight from the boil)

Cooking Method

Put all ingredients into a saucepan and cook on a low heat, stirring continuously. When you get the right consistency of your play dough, take off the heat. Wait until the dough is cool enough to knead. Knead until the dough is pliable. Put in an airtight container and store in the fridge until you want to use it.

Non Cooking method

Put your dry ingredients into a bowl. Carefully pour the boiling water in and stir until all combined. If you want to knead the dough you can wear disposable gloves to avoiding burning your hands.

Note: Please do this method away from children when you are using the hot water.

Play dough can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for months. Just make sure it is not left our in the air for too long after your child has finished playing with it as it will dry up. You can always add water to moisten it up a bit.

The Biggest Bubbles ever! (Recipe coming soon)

Gourment Goo! (Suitable for ages from 2 years)

This is for the more patient parent and creative child (due to the obvious mess and depending on the stretch of the imagination)

Take any bowl, any size, and mix any amount of corn flour with water. You can add anything you feel as long as it is safe and supervised. e.g.. food colouring, grass, sugar, sand, salt, rice and let the imagination flow.

It is better to do this in the shade, outside and before a bath!

All suggested activities and games are purely to give you information for ideas in which to choose your own play with your child. We recommend all activities must be supervised and although using natural products must not be ingested.
